To provide tools for personal deeper analysis and interdisciplinary integration. To provide a dynamic analysis of the agricultural sector in relation to the production needs and to the natural resources conservation.
Acquired skills:  The knowledge of agricultural and farming systems. The capacity to analyse the relations among the components of the systems, the influence of the meteorological driving variables on crops and vegetation. The knowledge of the relations soil/crop.
Comprehension of the internal processes of the systems related to water and nutrients cycles.
Course contents:  Agricultural and cropping systems: analysis of the main properties. Clomatic factors and elements. Analysis at different meteorological scales. Climate and plants. Classification of Climates. Soil and cropping systems. Main physical, chemical and microbiological properties. Soil analysis use. The seed sector, seed analysis. Intensification concept and different level of techniques application. Agrotechniques: tillage, fertilization, irrigation, crop protection. Quality of production process and environmental quality.
Program:  Principles of system analysis. Cropping, farming, agricultural systems concepts. Functions and properties. Climate, meteorological conditions. Factors and elements. World Climate Classification. Monitoring tools and methods. Soil: main physical, chemical, microbiologica features. Seed. The quality of seeds, seed analysis e the activity of INRAN-ENSE. Seed security concept. Basic element for specie and cv. choice. Agrotechniques. Land preparation, tillage related to crop rotation.
